Frequently asked questions

If your question isn't here, ask a human — the contact page reaches people who built the product.

The basics

What does NeuralPay actually do?

It makes your existing online store able to accept purchases from AI agents (like ChatGPT acting on a customer's instruction). Concretely: it publishes your catalogue where agents look, verifies that an agent is legitimate, and lets verified agents complete orders through your existing checkout.

Do I have to change my store or payment provider?

No — that's the founding constraint of the product. Your platform, theme, checkout and payment provider all stay. NeuralPay installs alongside them as an app, plugin or API integration.

Is anyone actually buying through AI agents yet?

In the US, yes — ChatGPT's Instant Checkout launched there in September 2025. In Europe and Asia, consumer agent checkout hasn't switched on yet. That's precisely the point of installing now: you're ready the day it does, at near-zero cost in the meantime.

What happens between now and agents arriving in my market?

Your catalogue gets registered and stays synced, your integration is tested end-to-end with sandbox orders, and you appear in agent registries from day one. You lose nothing by being early — the fee only exists when agent sales do.

Money

What does it cost?

1% of each sale completed by an AI agent, invoiced monthly. No setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimum. Sales from your normal human customers are none of our business — literally.

Does NeuralPay hold or touch my money?

Never. Payments run through your existing payment provider and settle to your bank exactly as today. We see the order data (to verify agents and calculate the 1%), not the money.

How do refunds and chargebacks work?

Through your payment provider and platform, unchanged. If you refund an agent order, the corresponding 1% fee is credited on your next invoice. Disputes come with better evidence than usual — every agent order carries a signed session trail.

Security & control

Doesn't opening my store to agents invite bots and fraud?

The opposite of opening — it's selective admission. Your existing bot defences stay up. NeuralPay verifies cryptographic signatures from known agent operators (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic…) and only lets signed requests through. Scrapers and card-testers see the same wall they see today.

Can I limit or stop agent orders?

Yes — operator allowlist, order caps, value thresholds requiring review, and a kill switch that pauses the channel instantly. You're never a passenger.

Which regulations does this touch — PSD2, SCA, GDPR?

Because payment stays with your regulated payment provider, your compliance position doesn't move. Customer authentication (SCA) is handled when the agent is authorised to pay, and our data processing is GDPR-native. Full detail on the compliance page.

Practical

Which platforms are supported?

NeuralPay supports the major ecommerce builders: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento / Adobe Commerce, PrestaShop, Shopware, Ecwid, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Square Online and custom or headless stores through the API. If your platform is unusual, tell us during signup and we will map the shortest route.

How long does setup take?

On native app and plugin paths, setup is normally measured in minutes. On custom or headless stores, it is usually an afternoon to a few days depending on your stack — one catalogue feed, one signed checkout webhook and one sandbox purchase.

We're mid-market, not enterprise. Is this for us?

You're exactly who it's for. Enterprises can build agent infrastructure in-house; NeuralPay exists so established stores without a platform team get the same capability with none of the build.

Still have a question?

Ask it before you sign up — skeptical merchants make the best early adopters.
